Parade of Homes / AVB Kitchen

This fabulous kitchen was designed by Kalamazoo Custom Kitchens & Baths and assembled with the help of the pros at American Village Builders, for the Parade of Homes tour in 2009. This was inspired by the client’s ideas for a truly one of a kind traditional 3 color kitchen. The large island hosts a 2″ thick solid cherry top matching the window wall counter. The small red accent island carries off the grand furniture detail in style. The black wear away finish on the hearth style cabinets around the cooking area really anchor this kitchen’s cozy appeal.

This kitchen was based off of our showroom display which was inspired by curves. The room was transformed into undulating curves that flow making this a real inviting and functional kitchen. The TV location was important allowing the cook to watch while slicing and dicing at the kitchen sink/food prep area. All interior cabinet accessories, such as the waste basket, pots and pan drawers and appliance garage are strategically placed for good point of use storage.

Clean and Contemporary

The clients wanted something classic, sleek and contemporary with pizazz, while maintaining the warm look of fine wood which included black wenge at the small island top and inserts in the wood flooring. Multiple cabinet heights, counter heights and materials were used to create a real masterpiece of art.
